BlueData Continues Leadership Team Expansion, Names New Vice President of Marketing
Former Cisco Executive Joins BlueData to Lead Marketing and Accelerate Go-to-Market Momentum
Mountain View, Calif. – BlueData, pioneer of Big Data private clouds, today announced the appointment of former Cisco executive Jason Schroedl as vice president of marketing. Schroedl joins an impressive leadership roster at BlueData including recent executive additions from VMware and Microsoft as well as other executives and Big Data advisors from leading technology companies such as Facebook, Intel, NetApp, Pivotal, Service-Now, and Yahoo.
In his role, Schroedl is responsible for all corporate and product marketing worldwide and reports to BlueData co-founder and chief executive officer Kumar Sreekanti. Leveraging his 20 years of software marketing and go-to-market strategy experience, Schroedl will help accelerate BlueData’s global growth and further the mission of democratizing Big Data by making it easier, faster, and more cost-effective for enterprises of all sizes to deploy Hadoop infrastructure on-premises.

Schroedl comes to BlueData from Cisco Systems, where he was director of product and solutions marketing for the cloud computing and data center software business. He led global marketing for Cisco’s portfolio of data center automation, cloud management, and systems management software – including products from multiple acquisitions, software for the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) server business, and product extensions for Big Data. Schroedl joined Cisco from newScale, where he was vice president of marketing and helped to lead the company from its early stages as a venture-backed startup through subsequent global growth and acquisition by Cisco in 2011.
